NAU Women’s Soccer Suffer Loss on Senior Night

NAU Women’s Soccer were disappointed this weekend as their final home game of the season didn’t end the way they had hoped.

The Lumberjacks fell to Southern Utah 1-0. They celebrated seven seniors while fighting to secure a spot in the conference tournament.

NAU entered the weekend sitting at 9-8 overall and 4-4 in the Big Sky, holding the fifth-place spot out of six to make it into the conference tournament. On Friday night, several teams saw their postseason chances dashed, while others may still make it.

While NAU dominated with 19 shots to Southern Utah’s three, they failed to finish with a much-needed goal.

Senior goalkeeper Meghan Dickmann returned to the field after missing six games in the middle of conference play.

The Thunderbirds scored their lone goal in the 20th minute of the first half.

NAU have a full week of practice ahead of them before they head to Sacramento state for their final match of the season this Friday at 3:30 p.m.
