NAU Names New VP for Community Relations
Northern Arizona University President Rita Hartung Cheng recently announced a new addition to the staff.
Emily Allen will serve as the university’s new assistant vice president for community relations. As a former senior city planner for Fort Collins, Colorado, Allen brings 15 years of experience in higher education and local government to her new role. She’s also an  executive board member of the International Town and Gown Association, and has five years experience as a community liaison between Fort Collins and Colorado State University.

In addition to her work with ITGA, Allen serves on several committees dedicated to providing a safer and more productive experience for CSU students and Fort Collins residents. She has volunteered for Restorative Justice and she’s presented on the importance of good relationships between cities and universities at conferences across the country.

Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and earned her master’s degree in student affairs in higher education from Colorado State University.
