The Town of Marana has selected its interim town manager.
On Monday, October 30, the Marana Town Council announced their decision to appoint Jamsheed Mehta to the position.
Mehta has served as Marana’s deputy town manager since 2014. He will replace Gilbert Davidson, who has accepted a role as Arizona’s chief operating officer and will leave after Friday, November 17.
Before 2014, Mehta served as Glendale’s interim assistant city manager. When Mehta joined the Town of Marana, Davison appointed him to oversee the departments of development services, utilities, public works, airport and engineering.
According to the official press release, Mehta has degrees in civil engineering and urban planning from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the Arizona City Manager’s Association and International City/County Managers Association.
