GILBERT, Ariz. (Jan.20, 2020) – Kajukenbo Arizona (Kaju AZ), a Gilbert-based family-owned business offering Hawaiian mixed martial arts classes, is giving back to the community with two special upcoming events open to the public and to be held at Kaju AZ, 888 S. Greenfield Road, #105, Gilbert, Ariz.
“Kaju AZ’s philosophy is to ‘always give more than you get’ in all aspects of life,” said Jennifer Corder, co-owner and lead instructor at Kaju AZ. “Our annual blood drive and free quarterly self-defense clinics are in keeping with that philosophy and allow us to give back to our community.”
Blood drive benefiting American Red Cross

Over the past decade, Kaju AZ has hosted 10 blood drives collecting more than 500 units of blood. The drive is one of the largest hosted in the East Valley each year.
Free self-defense clinic
Kajukenbo is the first true mixed martial art, a hybrid that combines Karate, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Kenpo and Chinese Boxing. It was invented in 1947 in Oahu, Hawaii, at the Palama Settlement to deal with local crime, as well as to train people in self defense.
With all of the safety dangers for women and children,Kajukenbo Arizonaoffers several different programs to help keep community members safe, build confidence and prepare to defend themselves.
On Sat., March 7, 2020, Kajukenbo will host a free self-defense clinic for boys and girls ages 5-13 at 10 a.m. and for women ages 14+ at 11:30 a.m. Participants will learngrappling,grab defenses,hand drillsandbasic sparring exercises.
