High School Students Earn National Recognition

This year, nine Tucson students have taken home top honors at a national career and technical education competition.

The recipients are enrolled in the Pima County Joint Technical Education District’s program. Four come from Canyon del Oro High School, while the other five are from Mountain View High School.

The students were awarded gold and silver medals at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee.

Winning Canyon del Oro students include Lindsay Hoel (gold medal, entrepreneurship); Nicole Davis (gold medal, early childhood education); Tatiana Sierra (silver medal, early childhood education); and Michelle Johnson (silver medal, career investigation).

Mountain View winners are Jackie Lujan (gold medal, job interview); Brianna Burnett, (gold medal, career investigation); Nancy Weiler (gold medal, teach and train); and Alma Diaz and Marissa Duncan (silver medals, chapter service project).
