(Phoenix) – The Hance Park Conservancy is excited to announce the sixth annual “Noche en Blanco” multicultural community dinner in celebration of Hance Park (116 E. Moreland St. in Phoenix, AZ, 85004) on Saturday, October 30 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. The event is produced by the Hance Park Conservancy in partnership with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department and is a night of community fun where guests are invited to dress in white costume cocktail attire, enjoy live entertainment, and dine under the stars on the lush east lawn of Hance Park.
Honorary Chair, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego invites guests to enjoy the annual sunset toast to the community before the multicultural music and dance performance showcase featuring the Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra. Special performances from partners representing the Hance Park Conservancy Board of Trustees will include the Japanese Friendship Garden, the Irish Culture Center, the Arizona School for the Arts, Mariachi Fusíon and The Nash.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Hance Park Conservancy (“HPC”), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the sustainability and future of Hance Park. In addition to its efforts to foster strong community engagement in support of the park, HPC works in partnership with the City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation Department and Phoenix Community Alliance in a fundraising effort that will result in the realization of the Hance Park Master Plan, adopted by the City of Phoenix in 2014.
This elegant and culturally diverse experience is inspired by a similar “dinner in white” that started in Paris over 30 years ago and features long rows of tables draped in white linens with strings of sparkling lights and stars overhead.
Guests may purchase single seat tickets or tables for eight and are encouraged to decorate with their own festive centerpieces and compete for “Best Table” prizes. In the spirit of the origins of this community dinner, guests may bring picnics and non-alcoholic drinks, or they can pre-order gourmet picnics provided by Conceptually Social Catering as well as spirits, fine wines, and local craft beer. All pre-orders for gourmet picnics and alcoholic beverages close Friday, October 15th. Full bars for day-of sales will also be provided at the event.
Leading up to the night, Noche is urging guests who have attended in the past to participate in the “Noche Memories” campaign, which will culminate with the creation of the first digital photo album, filled with photos memories from previous years to debut at the event. Those who participate are encouraged to post and tag @HanceParkConservancy and hashtag #nochememories on Instagram for a chance to win a table for eight at the event, among other prizes. This campaign will begin on Monday, August 30th. The winner will be announced on Friday, October 1st. Follow @HanceParkConservancy for rules and further details.
