Group of Friends on Motorcycles Suffer Fatal Accident

A day out on the road with their motorcycles turned deadly for a group of friends in Buckeye.

A fatal accident occurred near Miller Road south of I-19. One person died and another was injured in the crash, according to Buckeye Police.

The two individuals involved were riding with a group of friends when they went down on their motorcycles. One of them was injured but alert and speaking when police and paramedics arrived on the scene. The second motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. He was later pronounced dead, and on Monday his identity was released as 19-year-old Edgar Miguel Acevedo from Illinois. He was living in Phoenix at the time of his death.

Officials with the Buckeye Police Department say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
