GROUNDBREAKING BROADCAST TELEVISION EVENT

JOIN AZTV CHANNEL 7 AND BRAD PERRY AS THEY GO LIVE FROM THE OPERATING ROOM WITH DR. RIZIK

Tuesday, March 9th at 8 a.m., Arizona Daily Mix’s very own Brad Perry will be broadcasting live from inside the HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center operating room as Dr. David Rizik, interventional cardiologist, shows us the miracles of modern-day medicine. Dr. Rizik and his team will be performing a lifesaving procedure on a patient with a leaking valve in the heart.

“These revolutionary cardiovascular procedures demonstrate lifesaving innovations improving the quality of life and keep patients from coming back to the hospital. It’s really a remarkable ray of optimism surrounding the therapies now available to patients and their families. Patients who watch this will have a better idea of what their treatment options are, should they ever be confronted with cardiovascular challenges. It’s not only fun watching but it is educational for our patients and our community.” – Dr. David Rizik, MD, MSCAI, FACC

Many of these patients were formerly referred to as ‘no option’ patients, suffering from valvular heart or coronary disease. Without a reasonable therapeutic option, previously these patients would often be referred to hospice care. Today, it is possible for those same patients to undergo a nonsurgical, transcatheter mitral valve repair and go home the next day. Commonly referred to as heart failure, Dr. Rizik will walk viewers through the repair of a diseased valve without having to open the chest utilizing a small opening to access a vein in the leg. Viewers will get to watch the procedure with the doctors via cardiac ultrasound and specialized X-ray machines. Following the procedure Brad Perry will field questions from viewers for Dr. Rizik and his team.

I am excited, and a little nervous, to be in an operating room. However, I am absolutely thrilled to be able to share this remarkable experience with our viewers on live TV. This once again demonstrates the power of local television in sharing vital information with the community. All of us at KAZT-TV are proud to be at the forefront.” – Brad Perry, Host, Arizona Daily Mix on AZTV Channel 7
