ACTIVITIES
Kid Zone Experience
The 2020 Kid Zone Experience provides the opportunity to try Magnetic Slime, Wacky Weather, Angry Birds STEM Launch, Preschool Sensory Zone and more – all activities are representative of the Kid Zone Enrichment Program.
Library’s StoryWalk®
Join Tempe Public Library Youth Librarians for a guided reading experience as we read Marta! Big and Small written by Jen Arena and illustrated by Angela Dominguez. As Marta explores the jungle she discovers a variety of creatures that teach young readers about opposites. Observational activities will be stationed along the storybook path where families can explore the world of ants, butterflies, ladybugs, preying mantises and worms. StoryWalk® is a fun and educational way to incorporate literacy, exercise and family engagement.
Diablo Dash
Visitors will once again enjoy the Diablo Dash at PlayDay. Sponsored by the Tempe Diablos, the Diablo Dash is a family-friendly obstacle course that will have you running, crawling, climbing, sliding and laughing all the way to the finish line!
Just for Kids Fishing Festival
Anglers of all ages are invited to west side of Kiwanis Lake between 8 a.m. and noon to try their hand at fishing at the 29th annual Just for Kids Fishing Expo. Anglers United and Arizona Game and Fish will provide everything you need (poles, bait and a little guidance) at no cost during the event.
PlayDay began several years ago as a way to celebrate Tempe’s designation as a Playful City USA Community. PlayDay is sponsored in part by the Tempe Diablos. For more information, visit tempe.gov/PlayDay or call 480-350-5200.
