Feedback needed on new Desert Conservation Commission for Tempe’s desert parks

Last year, Tempe City Council formed a working group tasked with creating a Desert Conservation Commission, which will be responsible for managing signage, trail construction, tree planting, revegetation, damage repair, and path maintenance in the Papago Park and Hayden Butte preserves. The working group, which includes councilmembers Jennifer Adams, Randy Keating and Joel Navarro, is asking for feedback on this potential commission. Residents can attend a public meeting or complete an online survey throughout the month of July.

Public Meeting

Wednesday, July 17, 6-7 p.m.

Tempe Public Library, 3500 S. Rural Road, Meeting Room A (lower level)

Online survey through July 31

Public input received will help guide the working group’s final recommendation, which will be presented to City Council at a later date.
