‘Economic Gardening: Sowing Your Success’ Topic of AAED Symposium

The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) will hold a Northern Economic Development Regional Symposium to discuss “Economic Gardening: Sowing Your Success.” The symposium will be held June 29 from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Yavapai College, Sedona Center, 4215 Arts Village Drive in Sedona.

Eric Glomski, winemaker, Page Springs Cellars, will provide the keynote address, “Growing Wine, Jobs and Business in Arizona.”

Justin Clifton, Sedona’s city manager, will provide an update on his city’s economic development activities.

Additionally, panel discussions will be held on getting businesses started in a community and on sustaining and growing those businesses.

Panelists will include Sebra Choe, economic development specialist for the town of Camp Verde; Bobby Davis, AZED Pro, economic development specialist for the town of Payson; Bruce Morrow, transportation manager for the city of Cottonwood; John Stigmon, CEO of ECoNA; and Molly Spangler, economic development specialist for the city of Sedona.

Sedona Mayor Sandy Moriarity, along with Casey Rooney, AAED’s Northern Arizona membership chair and economic development director for the city of Cottonwood, will provide opening remarks.

Guided tours of area economic drivers will also be available to the attendees.

The cost of the symposium is $50 for AAED members and guests and $65 for non-members if registered by noon on June 22. Late registration is $75. To register, visit www.aaed.com/event/aaedJune29.
