Save the Date – Voter Community Lunch and Learn

The Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (ACDHH) and
Adrian Fontes, Maricopa County Recorder
WHAT:
ACDHH encourages the deaf, deaf-blind and the hard of hearing community members to get out and vote in 2018. Join us for our Voter Community Lunch and Learn, where we will be providing information on how to be a prepared voter for the deaf and the hard of hearing community. Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes will join us for the event at our offices and on Facebook live to answer any questions. Attendees will learn how to register, types of materials to be aware of and where to find candidacy information. Voter registration deadline is July 30, 2018.

For those unable to join the event in person, we encourage the community to join us live on the ACDHH facebook page where we will be streaming the event and encouraging questions from both the live and facebook audiences.
WHY:
The deaf and hard of hearing community have a voice that should be heard, especially at the polls. This event will cover:
– Instructions on filling out voter registration cards
– Accessibility of voting options and advanced technology being offered at the election
– Information about voting timeframes, candidate information and where to find your legislatures
– Why every vote is important and needs to be heard
