Cultural Center Hosts Lunar New Year Celebration

It was a wonderful weekend of fun celebrations for the Chinese New Year.

It’s the Year of the Dog, and the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center hosted an amazing night of festivities for the Lunar New Year.

Dazzling dance displays, stunning singing and eye-catching color were all part of the commemoration. Community members also took a moment to reflect on the sacrifices of the country’s Chinese American veterans. More than fifty former service members were recognized for their service at the annual celebration. The tables were lined with photos of veterans from as far back as World War I. It was a true honor for these veterans, many of whom helped teach the younger generations how to perform the opening Lion Dance of the Lunar New Year ceremonies.
