The Coconino County Manager recently received an impressive award.
Cynthia Seelhammer was named the recipient of the 2017 Gabe Zimmerman Civic Leadership Award, presented by the Center for the Future of Arizona.
This award is part of a statewide competition established to recognize outstanding non-elected public servants in three categories: Civic Leader, Emerging Leader and Community Builder.
In her role as county manager, which she took over in August 2013, Seelhammer oversees all day-to-day operations of the County and acts as liaison with elected officials. She credits her colleagues for helping her and the county succeed.
In her thirty plus years of experience, she has earned other awards such as the 2012 John J. DeBolske Professional Excellence Award and the 2010 Arizona City/County Management Association Outstanding Assistant City/County Management Award.
Prior to joining Coconino County, she worked as a town manager for over 12 years and also served as a Deputy County Manager for the city of Phoenix.
