There is a local non-profit organization that is working hard to give people hope after some of life’s big challenges.
AZ Common Ground is on a mission to “support, advocate and mentor previously incarcerated youth and adults to become servant leaders within Maricopa County,” as shared on their official website.
They provide services and opportunities to people once they get out of jail, with a focus on making sure these individuals make better choices and contribute positively to the local community. Since 2011, they have been teaching life skills to keep people off the streets and away from crime. Over the years, AZ Common Ground has successfully graduated 681 students from its programs, and only 27 have reoffended and returned to prison.
