Child Crisis Arizona’s annual board fundraising luncheon became a virtual brunch “in” for 2020, allowing guests to view the event from the comfort of their own home.
During the event, which premiered Thursday, October 15 at 9:30 a.m., families shared stories of resilience through foster care and adoption, the pandemic and a difficult childhood. Each highlighted the importance of the work being done at Child Crisis Arizona to create safe kids and strong families.
Torrie Taj, CEO of Child Crisis Arizona, shared that the agency has made significant changes during the COVID-19 pandemic, finding new ways to reach out to the vulnerable families who depend on Child Crisis Arizona’s services and programs. The agency has moved parenting classes, counseling appointments and foster care meet and greets online; delivered school supplies and meals to low-income families; and added a Thankful Thursday meal distribution for families in its Early Education and Foster Care and Adoption programs.
“2020 has changed all of us, our community and even our organization,” Taj said. “Like all of you, we embraced what needed to come next and adapted both our in-person programming and virtual services to meet the needs of the most vulnerable.”
This annual event provides an opportunity for Child Crisis Arizona’s board members and major donors to invite friends and colleagues to learn more about the agency’s mission and vision.
