In a typical year, the start of fall would mean the start of events season. While things may look a bit different in the COVID-19 era, these socially distanced fall events are worth marking on your calendar.

Virtual Kitten Yoga

Sept. 26, 10 a.m.

Arizona Animal Welfare League’s Kitten Yoga has gone VIRTUAL! floo-id YOGA will lead an all-levels virtual yoga practice on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. All you need is a mat and an open space to practice. Hit the Green for Phoenix Children’s Hospital

Through end of December

Hit the Green for Phoenix Children’s Hospital this fall at one of the 20 Troon-affiliated facilities throughout Arizona. Golfers are invited to help raise money for Phoenix Children’s by making a $10 donation on designated par threes. Participants will automatically receive a certificate good for discounts in the golf shop, and have a chance to win a 2021 National Troon TwoSome Card (retail value of $599). Proceeds will benefit the Hospital’s HOPE fund, helping to launch critical new programs, purchase essential equipment, conduct cutting-edge research, provide charitable care, and more. Prices vary. Rob Dollar Ride

Oct. 25

The third annual Rob Dollar Ride, presented by the Rob Dollar Foundation, will go virtual in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic on Sunday, October 25. Cyclists in the Valley and across the world will have the chance to push themselves and participate with family and friends from any location, as well as win great prizes and raise funds for the Rob Dollar Foundation, whose mission it is to raise awareness of road safety in the cyclist and driver communities. The Rob Dollar Ride, Arizona’s largest memorial bike ride, honors the life of Rob Dollar, the energetic, fun-loving and charismatic man who tragically lost his life on a Sunday ride when he was hit and killed by a motorist. To honor his wishes and legacy, Rob’s father, John Dollar, and best friend, John Hogen, began the Rob Dollar Foundation and created its largest annual fundraiser, the Rob Dollar Ride. $19. Phoenix Children’s Hospital 5K

Oct. 30-Nov. 1

This virtual, family-friendly 5K and Kids Dash can be done from anywhere in the world to support the kids and families at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Run, walk, bike or ride your way to the virtual finish life. All proceeds support Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Hope Fund, which benefits the Hospital’s more than 60 programs and services funded solely or significantly through philanthropy. The first 1,000 adults to register will get a FREE cooling towel. The first 150 kids registered for the Kids’ Dash will receive a special Kids Dash Participation Medal. FREE to register. Extra Life Phoenix

Calling all gamers to the stage. Extra Life Phoenix benefiting Phoenix Children’s gives gamers the opportunity to play games for a good cause. Gamers will take the stage competing for grand prizes and recognition. This event will bring together a diverse community in a passion for action and adventure, all while supporting the world-class care provided at Phoenix Children’s. Registration varies. Arizona Animal Welfare League’s Walk to Save Animals

Pace for pups! Footsteps for felines! Cruise for critters! Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL), Arizona’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter, will present the 22nd annual Walk to Save Animals on Saturday, November 7. Taking place in a virtual format amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Walk to Save Animals is AAWL’s largest annual fundraiser, bringing together a community of people and dogs to raise funds for the thousands of homeless and medically in-need animals the shelter rescues. By registering to participate as an individual or team, you are helping end animal homelessness. Funds raised at the event help AAWL save more than 4,000 animals at risk of euthanasia, provide medical care for sick or injured animals, deliver behavior training to dogs in need and so much more. $25 adults, $15 kids.
