UCP Strong takes signature event online to support UCP family from the safety, comfort of home
PHOENIX – United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona’s first fully virtual event gives families, community and sponsors a place to come together to hear inspiring stories and learn how ongoing contributions make it possible to further the mission of providing comprehensive services to individuals with disabilities and their families through physical, developmental and educational support.
Taking the place of the annual gala to protect the families, staff and community during the ongoing pandemic, UCP Strong will open with 13-year-old Jack Florez as the emcee, introducing the program while opening up about his experience receiving therapies that helped him overcome challenges since he first began at UCP at the age of three.
“A doctor once told my parents that I might never be able to walk on my own,” Florez says. “Thanks to my hard work, the love of my parents, and the dedication of my UCP therapists, I not only walk, I’m a runner on my middle school track team.”
Over the following hour, UCP will share stories from within the community and the research showing how beneficial programs and therapies like those provided by UCP are in helping children with movement disorders.
UCP Strong is made possible through the support of Presenting Sponsor Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and UCP Champion of 39 years, Circle K.
The virtual event is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Individual registration for the event is free. To reserve your place, please visit here. Donation and sponsorship opportunities are available. Funds raised during the event will provide continuation of programs, services and education for UCP patients and their families.
