PHOENIX –  Marco Morales, an interior designer from Phoenix, spends his days working for a small commercial design firm. Like many working professionals, he knows what it’s like to balance work, life and chores.  He also knows that there’s more to being a Father than DNA.   Morales journey through Fatherhood is unique.  Although he doesn’t have biological children, he has stepped up to raise his nephew as his own son.

“Being a father-figure is more than being a biological dad,” said Morales. “When my sister’s life took a turn rendering her unable to take care of her son, I was humbled to have the opportunity to step in and raise him, giving me a chance to become a father to him.”

Thanks to WashClub Phoenix, Morales can spend a little extra time unwinding. The 42-year-old was the lucky winner of a month of free laundry service and a RoadHouse Cinema ticket 4-pack.

“I’m grateful for this unexpected gift,” said Morales. “Being honored on Father’s Day is especially meaningful to me, since I feel lucky and grateful to have stepped into the fatherhood role for my nephew.”

Whether it is work, caring for others or self-improvement, Morales is good at keeping busy. In 2014, Morales started a weight loss journey that he documented on Facebook and Instagram. After losing 200 pounds in roughly 18 months, he fully committed to the new lifestyle and began working out at least once a week.

“Life is all about making time for what’s important,” adds Morales. “It’s about taking action.  But isn’t it true that the little things in life, like laundry, can get in the way of big picture thinking?”

Earlier this month, WashClub Phoenix asked Valley residents to nominate their dads for the chance to win a month of free laundry service and a pack of tickets from RoadHouse Cinema to honor Father’s Day. After hundreds of entries highlighting men across the Valley, the Chief Operations Officer of WashClub Phoenix, Nick Rawlins, announced the winner over a Facebook live drawing.

“We wanted to honor fathers out there trying their hardest,” said Rawlins. “We were so glad to give Marco the chance to use laundry time for other things this month.”

WashClub Phoenix is a new, online and on-demand laundry company with a smartphone app that connects families, businesses and individuals with a convenient, affordably priced laundry service. With a robust app and website, the company’s application enables users to arrange and schedule laundry services within a 24-hour timeframe. Customers will receive notifications throughout the process.
