The Americano Introduces Monthly Wine Dinners

The Americano (17797 N. Scottsdale Rd), a brand new contemporary Italian steakhouse restaurant from Pomo Restaurant Group and Creation Hospitality, will be hosting monthly wine dinners running April and  May.

The wine dinners will be hosted by The Americano’s Head Sommelier, Nicholas Padua and a different winery each month. Padua’s 24 years in the food, beverage and hospitality industry includes time with the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group at Spago in the Four Seasons Resort Maui, as well as working as Lead Sommelier for Michael Mina at Bourbon Steak in the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort and most recently, Bourbon Steak Miami at the JW Turnberry. He also spent five years at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North in various management positions.  Padua has curated the restaurant’s extensive wine list focusing on America and Italy. His wine list includes a pairing for every single dish, from the tableside Tuna Tartare and the wood-fired 7X Wagyu Beef, to hand crafted pasta and all the exciting and innovative dessert offerings.

All wine dinners will begin at 6:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception, followed by a communal seating four-course chef dinner menu served at 7 p.m.  To purchase tickets for the wine dinners, visit theamericanorestaurant.com/.

  • Opus One Wine Dinner
    • April 22 at 6:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception with a four-course chef driven menu with wines at 7 p.m.
    • $295, includes tax and gratuity

Opus One is the realized dream of Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux and Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi. Together, our founders set out to create a single wine dedicated to the pursuit of uncompromising quality. This singular mission shaped the California wine world as we know it today and will continue for generations. The event will feature ambassador Nick Holmes.

  • Etude Wine Dinner
    • May 20th at 6:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception with a four-course chef driven menu with wines at 7 p.m.
    •  $195, includes tax and gratuity

Established in 1982, Etude was founded on the philosophy that winemaking begins in the vineyard, long before harvest, and that superior grape growing allows our winemakers to craft wines of exceptional varietal expression and finesse. This ethos remains unwavering as the winery continues to build upon its established legacy of exemplary Pinot Noir. The event will feature senior winemaker John Priest.
