Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona is pleased to announce they are launching the Goodwill Foundation in January 2020 to focus on helping individuals and their families achieve a prosperous life. The Foundation’s office will be housed at Goodwill’s corporate office at 2626 W Beryl Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85021.
Julie Dunnigan, Goodwill’s vice president of philanthropy will serve as executive director of the Goodwill Foundation. Ed Oxford will serve as the Foundation board Chairman. Joe Berg, Cameron Colvin, Will Fischbach, George Grombacher, Jonathan Keyser and Tim O’Neal will serve as Foundation board members.
“There continues to be a significant need in our community to provide career readiness and placement services to individuals and families looking to build a better future,” said Tim O’Neal, president and CEO of GCNA. “Our stores and the community’s generous donations will continue to fund these critical services. However, we need to do even more to support these efforts. There is a large gap identified with jobs moving into our market that demand more skills, more training and more technical ability that many unemployed and underemployed Arizonans currently lack. The Foundation will broaden Goodwill’s reach and better serve Arizonans who want to achieve lifelong prosperity.”
The Foundation will help support Goodwill’s mission services, and future plans include investing in programs and facilities that merge education, training and humanitarian resources. Purchases and donations at Goodwill stores will still support Goodwill’s Mission Services.
“The Foundation will allow us to advance individuals, their families and the community from poverty to prosperity,” said O’Neal.
