See Their Holiday Light Display


Hey folks, do you want to have some fun?  Bring the whole family out to Maricopa Live Steamers Railroad in Glendale.  This magnificent park is oodles of fun.  Right now they are featuring their holiday light display.  Guests can see that on Friday, Dec. 20th, Saturday, Dec. 21st, Friday, Dec. 27th and Friday, Dec. 28th.  Times for all four of those dates is from 6 PM until 9 PM.  Do not miss this spectacular display.

Ride On the Model Trains


Even if you are unable to make it to the train park for the light display, there is plenty to do here.  For instance, you can take the family for free train rides on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM until 3 PM.  Ride on large scale model trains on one of four different routes that go through the park.  Or, schedule a birthday party doing exactly this.  What a great and imaginative way to celebrate a birthday!

Registrations Now Being Accepted for Winter Fest 2020


Also known as the MLS OPS Meet, there is something for every person to do here.  You can be an engineer, a conductor, a dispatcher, or whatever you want.  You can also choose to just be a student of the railroad.  The primary purpose of this is to experience first-hand how railroads operated in the past and today.  Register right now for the Maricopa Live Steamers Winter Fest 2020.  You can go online to  Directions to the train park are also available on the website. 

Shelby’s Junior Engineer School


This school teaches children of any age to learn how to operate a train.  The lessons not only focus on how to drive a train, but feature a huge emphasis on safety.  They will be taught how to operate a train at a safe speed, how to use the horn.  There is no fee to participate in this school; however, donations are appreciated.  It is also strongly encouraged that you photograph your kids having the time of their lives.



Where Is This Train Park?  When Do They Operate?


The MLS Train park is in operation every Sunday between noon and 4:30 PM from mid-September until mid-May.  The park is closed between Memorial Day and Labor Day because of the extreme heat.  The address of this park is 22822 North 43rd Avenue, Glendale, AZ.  You will find it across the street from the Wet ‘N Wild Waterpark on 43rd Avenue.  It is south of Pinnacle Peak Road, close to I-17 and Loop 101.
