Six new parks have been selected for this year’s Arts in the Parks program, which provides resident-initiated arts events in neighborhood parks. Each event will be planned by the people who live in the community through a series of pop-up events and planning meetings that will take place over the next few months. Here are the parks and event dates selected for this year:
Harelson Park, February 22, 12-4 p.m.
Daley Park, March 20, 5-9 p.m.
Selleh Park, March 27, 5-9 p.m.
Celaya Park, April 3, 5-9 p.m.
Scudder Park, April 17, 5-9 p.m.
Hudson Park, May 1, 5-9 p.m.
Residents who live near any of these parks can visit tempe.gov/ArtsintheParks to find out how to get involved.
Arts in the Parks is a city-wide program that brings the arts to several communities in Tempe throughout the year. The program is initiated by residents and reflects the identity and values of the park’s community. Parks are selected based on resident input, geographic diversity, and park renovation schedules. The program funding was approved by Tempe City Council over the summer.
