Tempe Public Library’s Writer in Residence program continues this summer with a series of workshops and consultation from best-selling author, Betty Webb.
Webb is the author of the nationally best-selling Lena Jones mystery series as well as the humorous Gunn Zoo mysteries. Before writing full time, she worked as a journalist and has interviewed presidents, astronauts and Nobel Prize-winners. Webb will host several workshops to give writers first-hand tips to improve their skills. The workshops will cover a variety of writing topics, from story ideas, to character plots, to self-editing and getting published. Webb will also be available in for 30-minute one-on-one consultations by appointment.
The purpose of the Writer in Residence program is to encourage writers to continue their craft by providing valuable insight and hands-on training from successful authors. The program is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
