The March 1 deadline to register for Arizona Gives Day, a 24-hour online fund-raising event benefiting Arizona’s nonprofits, is rapidly approaching. Pre-scheduled donations begin March 4.

Registrationand re-enrollment is required annually for all organizations to verify annual revenue, prize categories and status of operation. New registrants must complete an initial inquiry form and be verified as a valid 501c3 organization located in or providing services in Arizona.  Participating nonprofits can then create a public profile.

Approximately 500 nonprofits are expected to participate in this 24-hour giving event. Participating nonprofits can begin campaigning for pre-scheduled donations on March 4.

Donations can be pre-scheduled, set as a recurring gift or given immediately beginning March 4. Only donations scheduled or given on Arizona Gives Day will count towards the nonprofit’s total for potential incentive prizes. The prize pool is sponsored by FirstBank, Thunderbirds Charities and Freeport McMoRan Foundation, which supports the “Rural Most Dollars” category.

“Arizona is home to more than 20,000 nonprofits that provide services we rely on every day,” said Kristen Merrifield, Chief Executive Officer for the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits. “Nonprofits create safe places to learn, live and fulfill dreams. Nonprofits are more than ‘charity.’ Arizona’s nonprofits constitute a powerful, economic engine that generates $28 billion in revenue annually, on par with what is generated by the state’s construction sector.  In total, nonprofits generate more than 8 percent of Arizona’s Gross State Product.”

Arizona Gives Day is a 24-hour online fund-raising event on April 2 that has raised more than $13.4 million since 2013. Arizona Gives Day, which raised $3.2 million in 2018, is hosted by the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and the Arizona Grantmakers Forum and presented by FirstBank.

Matson Money is a Platinum Sponsor.
