Experience a Tempe Christmas tradition at the Petersen House for three weekends in December. Celebrating turn-of-the-century style with a Danish flair in honor of Niels Petersen, the historic house will be festively decorated for the season. Take part in hands-on projects and a plant sale hosted by the Tempe Garden Club on December 8th. Stop by the Tempe History Museum’s pop-up shop and enjoy cookies and cider on the porch. Learn about the history of the house and see it decorated for the holidays on a docent-led tour. The kids can play yard games and take part in a seek-n-find to locate the Nisse located inside! The Tempe Historical Society and Hayden’s Ferry Questers will also be at the house this season.
Petersen House Museum is located at 1414 W. Southern Ave. The tours and activities are free and the public is welcome; donations are always appreciated.
