The Heard Museum in Phoenix is hosting First Friday on Fri. Dec. 7, 2018, 6-10 p.m. with FREE admission to see award-winning singer and songwriter, Beatrice Deer. Deer mixes traditional Inuit throat singing with Indie rock to create what she calls “Inuindie”. She will perform songs from her latest album, My All to You, including a special screening of her animated music video Fox.
Cut + Paste Phoenix will also host a Matisse themed collage-making activity for all attendees.
Yua: Henri Matisse and the Inner Arctic Spirit will also be open for viewing. The exhibition is the first and only opportunity to see this groundbreaking exhibition exploring the surprising artistic and spiritual connection between the great 20th-century French modern master, Henri Matisse and the Indigenous people of the Arctic. Yua: Henri Matisse and the Inner Arctic Spirit runs through Feb. 3, 2019, at the Heard Museum.
