National Novel Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo, kicks off in November and the Tempe Public Library will provide space for writers who want to take part. Participants can meet to work on their novels and participate in fun challenges.

NaNoWriMo is a yearly, worldwide event that tasks writers with writing a 50,000-word novel in the month of November. By signing up for the program, participants have access to “Write-In” locations, tracking tools, weekly talks from published authors, mentorships and interactive webcasts.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of NaNoWriMo. Last year there were more than 394,000 participants on six different continents. 58,000 of those participants met their month-long writing goal.

For more information, to reserve “Write-In” space, and to see all the NaNoWriMo resources, visit www.tempe.gov/library.
