Steward Medical Group today introduced a new name for its prestigious orthopedic clinic that is the official partner of the Phoenix Suns and the Phoenix Mercury: Steward Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center. The clinic, formerly known as Hedley Orthopaedic Institute, has also brought on prominent sports medicine physicians Thomas Carter, MD, and C. Dain Allred, MD, who will provide enhanced access for patients to world-class care.
“Though our name is changing, our reputation for offering top notch orthopedic care for star professional athletes and weekend warriors alike remains the same,” said Sanjay Shetty, president of Steward Medical Group. “This is an exciting change for our expert orthopedic and sports medicine providers. We are excited to present a new identity to our patients and the community, while at the same time reinforcing the commitment to our legacy of clinical expertise and an excellent patient experience.”
The name Steward Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center aligns the orthopedic team with Steward Health Care and its hospitals in Mesa, Phoenix, and Tempe, as well as better reflects the expanded expertise of the group by adding the Sports Medicine specialty to the brand. The Steward Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center has three offices in Phoenix, one in Mesa, and one in Tempe, for patient convenience. Fourteen physicians and six advanced practitioners provide comprehensive orthopedic care. In the past year, the Steward Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center provided care to more than 10,000 patients.
