Female Entrepreneurs in Phoenix Get an Opportunity for Radical New Business Funding Option
Starshine Communities is hosting a revolutionary new way for female business owners to fund start-up businesses. The SheEO Radical Generosity breakfast will take place Friday, Sept. 28 at Arizona Broadway Theatre located at 7701 W. Paradise Ln. in Peoria, Ariz.
Featuring SheEO Founder Vicki Saunders, the event will showcase the unique SheEO business model including a strategy referred to as “Radical Generosity” which brings together a minimum of 500 women (called Activators) who contribute $1,100 each into a fund that provides 0% interest loans to innovative, women-led ventures focused on creating a better world. As the money is paid back into the fund, it’s loaned out again to support additional women entrepreneurs.
This is the first time SheEO has been in the Phoenix marketplace. They believe Arizona an emerging market, ripe for female entrepreneurship.
Since launching in September 2015, more than 3,000 radically generous women in Canada, the U.S. and New Zealand have collectively loaned out approximately $3-million to fund 32 women-led ventures. Plus, in July 2018, SheEO expanded to Australia.
“Less than 4% of venture capital and 4% of bank loans go to women-led businesses,” said Saunders. “It’s been like this for decades and we have a lot of data to show that women are not only a solid investment, women outperform on all key indicators including being more capital efficient, getting to profitability more quickly and outperforming our male counterparts. I decided it was time to create a new model versus trying to fit into the existing system to support female business owners.”
“We are enormously proud to host this remarkably forward-thinking program,” said Susan F. Moody, Co-Founder of Starshine Communities. “The SheEo program mirrors what we live and breathe every day at Starshine. Our goal is to lift up female small-business owners, provide collaboration and support opportunities and exemplify the power entrepreneurs have when they work together.”
SheEO is one of the most talked about disruptions in the female entrepreneur funding space currently. SheEO’s ambitious goal is to reach one million Activators in the next five years, creating a $1B perpetual fund that will fund 10,000 women-led ventures every year.
