The Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI) announced their annual awards recognizing and celebrating the work of reporting, editing, anchoring and producing at local public media radio stations across the U.S. The PRNDI awards are the only awards that on a national basis, recognize outstanding public radio news reporting at local stations. There are currently 900 NPR member stations in the United States although, not all have local news operations.
KJZZ 91.5 FM swept the Division AA Best Writing Category taking both 1st and 2nd place up against some of the largest public radio newsrooms in the country.
1st Place : Christmas Stuffing: Az Class Beginners to Taxidermy – Reporter: Stina Sieg, Phoenix
2nd Place :Earth & Bone-Havasupai Stand Up to Mining Company – Reporter: Laurel Morales, Flagstaff
KJZZ also received an award for 2nd place in the Division AA Enterprise and Investigative Reporting Category

KJZZ 91.5 FM is a listener-supported public radio station broadcasting to the Phoenix metro area. As the NPR member station for the region, KJZZ features a mix of local, national, and world news, including BBC, American Public Media and Public Radio International. The station airs classic jazz and blues nightly and entertaining weekend programs.
