The Valley’s biggest July 4th celebration at Tempe Beach Park is just days away. Here’s everything you need to know to enjoy the Fox 10 July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival, produced by the Kiwanis Club of Tempe.
New this year – Clear Bag Policy
To help ensure the safety of all guests and to streamline the entry process, a clear bag policy is being implemented this year. Each ticketed guest can carry one large clear bag, either a one-gallon Ziploc-style or 12” by 6” bag. Once small clutch purse (4.5” x 6.5”) is also allowed for small personal items (these bags will be searched).
Solid or clear backpacks, large purses, fanny packs, camera bags, diaper bags and tote bags will NOT be allowed.
The do’s and don’ts
Items allowed inside the event: One gallon of sealed water per person. Blankets, portable chairs, personal cameras and personal umbrellas – up to 48” are permitted.
Items not allowed inside the event: No purses. No firearms/ knives/other weapons. No fireworks or sparklers. No food/coolers. No skates/bicycles/skateboards. No pop up tents. No gang attire permitted. No pets (service animals are permitted).
Transit and parking
Attendees are strongly encouraged to take transit to the event to avoid parking and traffic hassles. This year, the festival has partnered with lyft to offer discounts on rides. Click here for details.
Tempe bus service will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule, with enhancements to Orbit neighborhood circulator routes. Starting at 5 p.m., service will be extended on all Orbit routes until 11 p.m. and Orbit Jupiter will operate every 15 minutes. Tempe Public Library will serve as an additional park and ride lot for events in downtown Tempe. The Tempe Transit Store will be closed. Light rail service
Valley Metro Rail will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule. Enhanced service will start at 5 p.m. Check www.valleymetro.org or call 602-253-5000 for hours and frequencies.

· Apache Boulevard and McClintock Drive
· Apache Boulevard and Dorsey Lane
· Tempe Public Library

Events and activities
Live, local entertainment, food and beverage gardens, kids’ activities, games, inflatables and rock-climbing walls. The 35-minute fireworks show will be launched from the Mill Avenue Bridge and choreographed to a variety of popular music.
5:40-6:40 p.m. – Local funk and rock group Donovan and the All Stars
7:15-8 p.m. – Country superstar and AZ native Kianna Martinez
8:15-9:15 p.m. – Phoenix-based rock quartet Lane Change
10-10:30 p.m. – Phoenix-based rock quartet Lane Change
Children 12 and younger and active military with military ID card receive free general admission. Advance tickets are $7, plus applicable service charges.

4. VIP Garden Admission Tickets – purchase online through July 4. $60 for ages 13 and up, $30- for ages 5-12, no ticket required for children under 5. $5 service charge per ticket. VIP ticket includes full BBQ dinner, misted area, table and seating.
