Dunkin’ Donates 50% of Proceeds to Charities during Opening Weekend

Dunkin’ Donuts and city of Maricopa Mayor Christian Price will cut the ribbon and officially open the first Dunkin’ Donuts franchise in Maricopa on June 8. Dunkin’ Donuts is celebrating the grand opening of its city of Maricopa Edison Pointe location on Friday, June 8 along with charity contributions, games, giveaways and more. Maricopa Mayor Christian Price and city council members will join in an official ribbon cutting with Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee owner and COO Alex Apodaca to kick-off the event.

“We’re thrilled to open Dunkin’ Donuts in the city of Maricopa and overwhelmed with the positive response from city leadership, the mayor and residents,” shared Apodaca. “We’re eager to give back to Maricopa, and let them know from day one that we’re here to serve and help continue building this proud and vibrant city.”

This new Dunkin’ Donuts is part of the recently launched Edison Point, a 13,000-square-foot development in Maricopa to be comprised of large anchor tenants on the east and restaurants and smaller retail offerings along State Route 347 and Edison Road.

“We welcome Dunkin’ Donuts to Maricopa and are grateful they chose to expand at Edison Pointe,” said Mayor Christian Price. “This a tremendous location, creates new jobs, increases our retail offerings and offers even more conveniences for our thriving community.”

Friday’s kick-off event will include Mayor Price pitting his culinary skills against Dunkin’ Donuts team members in a donut decorating contest, local Maricopa High School band performances, games, giveaways and free samples of Dunkin’s new Frozen & Iced Beverages. A portion of Friday’s proceeds will also benefit the local F.O.R. Maricopa Food Bank, who will also be on hand.

On Saturday legendary hot rod and motorcycle pinstriper Lyle Fisk will be on hand doing demonstrations and giving away free pin striping to some of the first motorcycle enthusiasts. A portion of the proceeds Saturday will go to Changing Lives Center at Phoenix Rescue Mission, a charity focused on helping women and children experiencing homelessness.

Sunday’s events include a portion of the proceeds being donated to benefit Death2Life Revolution, a youth suicide prevention group.
