Help Us Save Corona Del Sol High School Grad Night!

My Local News Arizona - Advertisement

Parents received an email eight days prior to the PTO Sponsored Corona Del Sol High School Graduation Night for seniors, letting parents know that the event had been cancelled.

Grad night is a 20+ year tradition at the school that requires numerous hours of organization and preparation, hundreds of volunteers, participation of upwards of 300 graduates and an extensive financial commitment. This is an opportunity for approximately 700 Corona seniors to have a safe place to celebrate after the graduation ceremony.

The communication stated that there was a low number of registered students this year
and the funds were not available to front all the necessary expenses. It would be impossible to carry out the event as planned. Parents, students and vendors were shocked and heart-broken. This was the first time hearing that grad night was at risk of ending.

No time to ask questions. If there is one thing the Corona community does well, it is to come together in times of need and move forward!

A grassroots team of parents moved to get grad night back on. This is a ‘feel
good’ story. Parents uniting to save grad night, keep our students safe, make positive memories and have lots of fun!
