In support of the strong relationship between the University and the city, Dr. Sobotta is “on loan” through the summer of 2019, including an academic year (AY18-19) of sabbatical leave from ERAU. Her track record of involvement to aviation advances in the Prescott area made her an obvious choice for the position, which she is initially working on part-time. In May, she will transition into her sabbatical leave and focus full-time on the airport, using her 17 years of airport/aviation industry experience. This includes administration, operations and public outreach work at three commercial service airports and two general aviation airports. Her education, training and research roles will also serve her well in this new job.
Dr. Sobotta is the Founding Chair of the ERAU-Prescott School of Business, where students can choose from 12 undergraduate business degree program combinations. Here, students study a variety of subjects ranging from Aviation Business Administration to Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination.
Dr. Sobotta worked as a business technical consultant to NASA at the Armstrong Flight Research Center, and she holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Arizona State University. She also earned an MBA in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a BS degree from Grand Valley State University, majoring in Public Relations, Advertising and Political Science.
