As You Wish Partners with Tempe Empty Bowls

More than 380 bowls were painted January 13-15 at As You Wish Pottery Places around the Valley as part of a fundraiser for Tempe Empty Bowls. Tempe Empty Bowls is an annual event which raises money for Tempe Community Action Agency and United Food Bank to fund their programs that help feed the hungry in Tempe. Tempe Empty Bowls will be held Friday, February 23 in downtown Tempe and Saturday, February 24 at the Tempe Library Complex.

For $10 artists of all ages could stop into an As You Wish Pottery Place and paint a bowl that was then donated to Tempe Empty Bowls. These bowls will be for sale at the event February 23 and 24 for $10. Attendees can select from hundreds of bowls made by local artisans, high school students and community groups. In addition they will receive a bowl of soup and bread from Whole Foods, a long-time sponsor of Tempe Empty Bowls. This meal is symbolic of the average daily caloric intake of those who go hungry.
