In February, hundreds of West Valley community members will rally to be a part of the hunger solution through a partnership between Lord of Life Lutheran Church and non-profit Feed My Starving Children (FMSC).
From Wednesday, February 7 through Saturday, February 10, 2018, 800 volunteers will make a difference by packing more than 171,000 meals with their own two hands in just four days at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 13724 W Meeker Blvd., Sun City West, AZ 85375
Community members can support this MobilePack by making a donation to cover meal costs, or by volunteering to package food at the event. Sessions are two hours, which includes a 15-minute overview of FMSC’s work around the world and a final wrap-up; volunteers can be age 5 and over. For those who cannot stand for extended periods of time, seated tasks are available. Donations may be given immediately, and volunteer registration will be available January 10. To learn more, visit www.lolaz.org and click on the FMSC MobilePack logo or visit https://give.fmsc.org/westvalley. Groups of 10 or more can register in advance by calling Shari or Jan at 623-322-5457.
About Feed My Starving Children
A Christian non-profit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries, where they’re used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. Last year, FMSC welcomed nearly 1.1 million volunteers to pack more than 284 million meals to feed more than 779,000 kids daily for a year. The Minnesota-based charity spends more than 90% of total annual donations directly on feeding kids.
