Arizona is a cultural mecca for motorcycle riders, enthusiasts and biker communities. With 300-plus days of sunshine and hundreds of miles of highways and backroads, Arizona may be the most motorcycle-friendly state in the country.

Passengers traveling through America’s Friendliest Airport® will experience this popular mode of transportation with the museum’s latest exhibition, Art of the Ride.  On display are two motorcycles including “The Copper Chopper,” a custom-built motorcycle by local bike builder Paul Yaffe in honor of Arizona’s 2012 state centennial.  In addition, photographer Neil A. Miller, takes visitors back to the 1970s with black and white photographs documenting bikers of that era. Artist embellished motorcycle parts, paintings, a “Frankenstein” illustrated gas tank and a video showcasing various areas of the Grand Canyon State from a biker’s perspective, all give visitors a glimpse into the attitude and passion for the camaraderie of riding. In addition, there will be a small exhibition about the Phoenix Police Motors program.  Historic images and items from the Phoenix Police Museum will be on display.  The exhibition will also offer a special photo opportunity for Airport visitors.

The Phoenix Airport Museum invites you to put “kickstands up” and experience the Art of the Ride on display at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Terminal 4, level 3 gallery through May 28, 2018. The Museum Gallery is open 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily.

The Phoenix Airport Museum is one of the largest airport art museums in the U.S.  The museum includes an art collection of nearly 900 artworks, 35 exhibition spaces in six buildings and the Phoenix Aviation Archive. For more information, visit https://www.skyharbor.com/Museum/Exhibitions/Terminal4
