Eight Award-Winning Schools Will Begin Accepting Applications for Enrollment
On December 1, Madison Elementary School District will begin accepting applications for enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year. Madison’s eight high-performing elementary and middle schools are some of the most highly sought in the area, with 50% of its students coming from outside the District boundaries, which often results in waiting lists for its school.
“We are pleased to offer open enrollment to parents who are seeking an extraordinary education for their children,” said Quinn R. Kellis, Ed.D. Superintendent of Madison School District. “Now is the time to enroll so the number of teachers we hire will be based on local demand.”
Open enrollment applications will be approved/denied on a “first-come, first-served” basis. The school office will time-stamp open enrollment forms when they are submitted. Approval for open enrollment will be based on physical capacity, current attendance, discipline records, and current academic progress.
New Student Open Enrollment: Parents may submit an open enrollment application between December 1, 2017 and January 26, 2018. They will receive notification of approval/denial of open enrollment prior to March 1, 2018. Any open enrollment applications received after January 26, 2018 may not be approved/denied until August, 2018.
Current Student Open Enrollment: Families who are currently open enrolled and wish to continue open enrollment at the same school do not need to submit a new open enrollment application. If choosing to open enroll at a different school for next year, parents may submit a new open enrollment application between December 1, 2017 and January 26, 2018 for the chosen school. Any open enrollment applications received after January 26, 2018 may not be approved/denied until August, 2018.
Open enrollment applications are available online at www.madisonaz.org/enrollment/. A separate application is required for each student.
Madison Traditional Academy (MTA) Lottery: MTA has different timelines and processes for open enrollment. For complete details, please visit the MTA Open Enrollment web page at http://madisonaz.org/enrollment/madison-traditional-academy-enrollment/.
