The seemingly never-ending series of deadly crashes on Arizona roads sadly continued Saturday afternoon.
First responders were called to the area of 7th Street and Greenway Parkway in Phoenix around 4:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a head-on collision.
According to Phoenix Fire, a man in his 60s was transported to the hospital in serious condition and a woman in her 60s was in extremely critical condition. She passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital. Her identity has not yet been released.
A third person was treated for injuries at the scene but elected not to go to the hospital.
This comes as the state tries to combat traffic fatalities after 962 lives were lost last year alone due to motor vehicle crashes. Please visit the official website of the Arizona Department of Transportation for more information.
