Northern Arizona University is hiring for an administrative assistant. 

This part time position requires 29 hours/week and is a great opportunity for a student to have an on-campus job.

As part of the office of the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, . this position performs a variety of administrative support activities.

Reporting to the Executive Assistant, the Administrative Assistant must ensure the highest level of efficiency and professionalism while demonstrating the values and traditions of NAU. As an ambassador for the department, a friendly, helpful and professional attitude is critical at all times.

Primary responsibilities include: answer phones and greet visitors, provide general information in response to inquiries, refers highly technical inquiries to appropriate work unit member, maintain office supply inventory and retrieve process and log incoming and outgoing mail according to office guidelines. This position is also responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all personnel and university documents, maintaining department “records of destruction” process and paperwork, and documenting all record storage and destruction per State of Arizona requirements. Office equipment training and repairs may be necessary, as well as compiling data, coordinating meetings, monthly reports and other administrative tasks.

Important qualifications include experience working in a university office and/or extensive multi-tasking, as well as customer service skills, organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a professional and dependable personality with excellent work ethic.

Candidates should be able to problem solve, make decisions, work with people from culturally diverse backgrounds and handle the operation of office machines including personal computers, printers, telephones and copiers. Skill in composing routine letters, greeting public and accommodating requests and developing and maintaining working relationships is also important.
