Families, friends and church groups are invited to come together this holiday season to feed those in desperate need and provide critical food support in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria and the earthquake in Mexico.
At special holiday packing sessions held on Thanksgiving, the second and third Sundays before Christmas and the Saturday before Christmas, volunteers are invited to hand-assemble nourishing MannaPack™ meals at local charity called Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). The MannaPack meals are then distributed to schools, clinics, orphanages and feeding programs in 70 countries.
The $50 donation per volunteer (or $150 per household) required for the holiday packing sessions covers the cost of one box of 216 MannaPack meals, which feeds a child for seven months.
Normally, FMSC does not require a donation, but several times a year FMSC gives volunteers the chance to become fully invested by packing meals and investing financially in them as well. Those unable to invest financially are invited to attend one of FMSC’s regular packing sessions.
These special “fully invested” sessions will be offered at Feed My Starving Children meal-packing sites in Mesa on:
• Thursday, November 23 (Thanksgiving): 8:30 am -10 am and 10:30 am – 12 pm
• Sunday, December 10: 1-3 pm
• Sunday, December 17: 1-3 pm
• Saturday, December 23: 9 am – 11 am and 12 pm – 2 pm
Reserve spots at . There is room for around 150 volunteers at the Mesa site for each of the six shifts. You do not have to be a Mesa resident to volunteer at the Mesa site; volunteers many come from any city or church.
