A former Tempe high school basketballer is joining the Duke Blue Devils.

Marvin Bagley III is widely considered the top recruit of the 2018 recruiting class, and his phenomenal high school career began at Tempe Corona del Sol High School.

At 6-foot-11, Bagley shined on the court in Tempe before ending up at Southern California’s Chatsworth Sierra Canyon High School. He recently announced his committed to Duke on ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” and he will be eligible to play this upcoming season with hopes of securing a national championship for the Blue Devils.

In July, Bagley petitioned the NCAA to reclassify him to allow him to become college eligible for the upcoming season, as he considered Duke, USC and UCLA.

Bagley is expected to be in the mix as the No.1 overall pick in the NBA Draft when he completes his collegiate career.
