The high school swimming and diving season kicked off with a splash as Flagstaff High School and North High School competed in their annual dual meet.

Hosted at the Flagstaff High School Natatorium, the meet brought together two determined and talented teams. In the end, the Flagstaff Eagles won, 111-47 on the girls side and 92-67 on the boys.

One of the top highlights was the extremely close finish in the boys 100 breaststroke, with North’s Joshua Jacobson coming in .06 seconds before Flagstaff’s Abe Sosa. In the girls competition, Freshman standout Pearl Himelick won the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley.

Next up for the Flagstaff Eagles is a home meet on Tuesday, September 5 vs. Bradshaw Mountain. Stay up to date on the Flagstaff swimming season on the official site.
