Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions has announced a new addition to it’s talented staff.
The Sun Devil family is welcoming Deborah Helitzer as the new dean of the school, following the exit of current Dean Keith Lindor.
Helitzer boasts more than 25 years of experience in teaching and award-winning research. She specialized in research involving diverse populations with health disparities, working on over $65 million of community-based research projects. Her doctoral research on malaria in Malawi is particularly well recognized.
She earned her doctorate from John Hopkins University’s School of Hygiene and Public Health in 1990.
As part of her new role, she will lead the way for the continued development of the educational and research opportunities offered at the College of Health Solutions. She will work with the talented team of faculty to further improve the college’s emphasis on nutrition and health promotion, behavioral health, science of health care delivery, biomedical diagnostics, biomedical informatics, speech and hearing science, medical studies and public health.
