The Giving Tree Wellness Center, a leading Arizona licensed medical marijuana dispensary, involves its Mesa and Phoenix patients in its goal to raise at least $12,000 to benefit Take Steps for Crohn’s and Colitis.

The nationwide fundraising event consists of local community walks dedicated to raising funds to find cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The Giving Tree asks patients to stop by either dispensary location, or visit the website, to make donations between now and April 7 in an effort to reach its fundraising goal for the organization. The Giving Tree plans to match all donations dollar for dollar as they have in years past. Last year, the high-growth medical cannabis dispensary raised $9,500 for the cause.

To rally community support around this cause, The Giving Tree also invites patients to join them at the Take Steps for Crohn’s and Colitis walk. The walk takes place at the Phoenix Zoo on Saturday, April 8 at 7 a.m.

To thank patients for donating, The Giving Tree will raffle off more than $7,000 worth of prizes ranging from edibles to glass products. Patients who stop by either dispensary and donate $5 will receive one raffle ticket with their donation.

Additionally, on each Wednesday leading up to the walk, patients will earn two raffle tickets for a single donation of $5, and donations of $10 on Fridays will grant patients a Pre-roll and two raffle tickets. Weekly prizes will be given to raffle winners, and two grand prize winners (one per location) will be drawn during the week of April 10.

The Giving Tree’s dedication to promoting wellness and awareness within the community has enabled them to raise more than $70,000 over the last three years for a variety of causes including Take Steps for Crohn’s and Colitis.

The Giving Tree Wellness Center has two Valley locations: 21617 N. 9th Ave. in Phoenix; and 938 E. Juanita Ave. in Mesa. For more information and to donate or join The Giving Tree’s team, please visit www.givingtreeaz.com.
