Driver From Tour Jeep Accident Succumbs to Injuries

The driver in last month’s tour Jeep crash in Sedona has passed away.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed the news last week, saying the driver succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash at a Phoenix metro area hospice center on Tuesday night.
Officials say the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which remains under investigation. The driver suffered serious chest injuries in the rollover crash. The vehicle came to rest in an upright position, and a small brush and grass fire resulted from the incident.
The Jeep was carrying six passengers plus the driver. AZDPS authorities say all occupants were out of the Jeep when first responders arrived. Those at the scene had helped to remove the driver from the vehicle. The driver had to be transported to Flagstaff via helicopter with serious injuries.
Two passengers were taken to Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, and four of the
other occupants declined treatment or transport.
