New Collision Center Aims to Help Motorists

Have you heard about the new collision center in Tucson? Drivers in Tucson and the surrounding areas can now get assistance with non-injury or minor car crashes.

The Tucson Collision Reporting Center recently open to help drivers report road incidents and vehicle collisions. Not only is this the first reporting center in the state, it’s only the second one in the country, with the other location in Virginia.

Located at the Patrick K. Hardesty Midtown Multi-Service Center, the new reporting center sits at 1100 South Alvernon Way, Tucson, AZ, 85711. The center is open six days a week, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

After minor collisions such as rear-end or parking accidents , drivers can bring their vehicles to the center, where the employees will record a statement from all parties involved. They will also document the cars and any other damage, taking photos and vital information to send to insurance companies.

This program will help with minor incidents throughout the City of Tucson, and best of all, it’s free for drivers! Although the first six months of the center will be a trial period, things are looking promising as drivers are taking advantage of the cost-free program. Accident Support Services International have invested $3 million to get the Tucson center up and running.

There are currently five employees working at the Tucson Center, and with their help, it will take between 25 to 45 minutes to complete accident reports.

Drivers aren’t the only ones who benefit from this resource. Tucson police officers are also enjoying the positives of the service, as they stopped responding to these types of crashes back in 2011. The same information that is sent to insurance companies is also delivered to TPD, and officials can use that data to enforce traffic in certain areas.
