VIDEO: Pueblo Grande Museum to Host Guitarist William Eaton

Check out a live performance of the Arizona Governor’s Arts Award winner.
Guitarist William Eaton will present an intimate performance of his acclaimed instrumental music on Sunday, May 28 at a special show at the Pueblo Grande Museum.
He will showcase his uniquely crafted harp guitar, synth guitar, lyre guitar and more. The multi-Grammy Award nominee is known globally for his one-of-a-kind guitars, as he has been designing and building all of his own string instruments for over 45 years. He inspires others with his craftsmanship at the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, which he operates.
In 1988, Eaton began his collaborative career with Native American flutist R. Carlos Nakai, and the two released their first recording for Canyon Records called Carry the Gift. Since then, the duo have released six more albums, four of which were nominated for Grammy Awards. This collaboration has influenced the development of Native American music and displayed the blending of two unique cultures.

His Sunday performance is part of Voices Across the Canyon, the accompanying concert to the museum’s exhibition One World, Many Voices: The Artistry of Canyon Records. The exhibition features photographs of Canyon Records artists including Eaton, and it is included with regular Museum admission.
