Grocery Store Evacuated During Search for Suspect

Supermarket shoppers got quite the scare last month during a police search.
Phoenix Police officers evacuated a Fry’s Marketplace store in north Phoenix while they looked for a suspect armed with a handgun.
The incident began when the man refused to leave the store located near 14th Street and Bell Road on Tuesday night, April 10. Police were called to the scene, and when they arrived and tried to talk to the man, they discovered he had a handgun. The man hid inside the store, and as more officers surrounded the premises, shoppers and employees were evacuated.
